Weekend with Papa

Last Thursday, my Dad was able to get away and come visit us in Texas. He flew in Thursday evening and then went home Tuesday morning. It was so nice to have him come and get to know the kids a little better.

While he was here, we also had the start to the Fall Soccer season.

Bekah is playing with the same group of girls from the last two seasons and they are awesome (their Coach is pretty awesome too!!!)

Coop is also on a team with a lot of the same boys from last year, but this is his first season playing boys only and 4 on 4. One of our good friends, who is also the mother of a boy on the team, is coaching his team and she rocks. Cooper loves her and is really growing!

Papa's sight is getting worse, therefore, he has numerous pairs of reading glasses, which the kids thought were quite funny. It turned into a hilarious moment as each kid tried on the glasses and did their best "Papa" face!!

Nice one Brayd!

On another side note, Adam flew to Virginia Sunday, then back LATE Monday night. Left to Virginia again Wednesday morning at 6am and is still there. He has had numerous interviews, both in the DC area and Baltimore, and has another scheduled in Long Island, NY on Monday and possibly another in Philadelphia either tomorrow or Tuesday. The kids and I miss him terribly, but this is a big move for our family and we want to make sure he is accepting the BEST possible job for his career and more importantly, for our family. Do we want our kids to have Southern accents or sound like New Yorkers?????

Thats exciting to live in the Northeast...living in NY was one of the most exciting times of our lives..and Long Island is the best place to plant. My sis used to live in the Baltimore area and there are some beautiful places there as well. oh, its so exciting and stressful at the same time~
Good luck. And hurray for Dad to come to TX. He is a sweet man.

Well let us know where you end up. If it is in the DC, VA, Or MD There are some great wards and people in all of those areas. My favorite was Reston VA great ward very family friendly not so many people moving in and out all of the time. The nice thing about DC,VA or MD They all connect along the belt way. You will never run out of things to do and most of it is free. How fun!!! I am excited for you guys. Oh I had Dallen in VA and Darren was born in MD and Matt went to Medical School at GW down town DC. Ok I will stop I could go on for days. Keep us posted

Yah for papa's visiting! I am sorry that you are without a husband right now - definitely no fun. And I would pick a southern accent over a New Yorkers ;)

I love the very top picture of your dad with the kids. He looks totally worn out. It's the perfect true shot of a grandparent visiting. :) As for the accents, I don't know...Ethan always says his A's as "ay-ah", as in "Day-ad" for Dad or "vay-an" for van. It's been funny teaching him to read and the "a" sound always gets him-- like he's realizing that something is just not right. Sounds just like a little Texan. Of course my college roommate from New York always said my middle name was supposed to be pronounced "Doh-wen" instead of "Dawn". So I guess it depends on whether you like friendly accent or attitude accent. :) Just kidding. I bet you'll love it up there!
